Thanks to her father's smuggling of video cassettes to broadcast the free world in the communist matrix from their apartment-cinema, Georgia knew she had to become a filmmaker very early in life. What she did not know was that she was worlds away.

She was 10 during the ’89 Revolution when the poverty challenge of her now single mother abruptly disrupted her connection with cinematography, keeping her away from it for 20 years.

By the time she was 27, Georgia had a BA in Economics, an interrupted BA in Film Directing, and a small business making the first million in turnover against the odds and allowing her to become a producer of avant-garde themed events for business mediums.

The 2008 crisis wiped the life she built and opened an era of immigration and unimagined challenges, pushing her on edges where she had to be the first, the fastest and the best to reach the end of the day, to reform herself from the level of her DNA.

Her curiosity defeated despair, leading her to become a serial award-winning problem solver in global innovation competitions, the highest-ranked fixer in Romania on World Fixer, a name to hire in top-tier film and tv productions, and to play a role in writing the history of space games when she integrated into her first animated video the technical design of a scientist friend, a small thing that helped his "Zero Gordian" to win this Space Game Federation & NASA challenge and to become a game-changing story we will see live from space during the 2024 Olympics.

Living at the confluence of entertainment, entrepreneurship, and innovation realms, Georgia is a filmmaker focused on the exploration of new and affordable storytelling formulas and production models that hold the potential to build cross-industries bridges through film and to open new horizons (see the brand art film and x-movie concepts). She believes we live times when we need each other in ways we never considered before.

In 2019 she made a pivotal choice and entered the Film Production Master of Fine Arts program at UNATC in Bucharest. By today, she developed three films with her BA grads colleagues, wrote an anthology series of eight shorts driven by a generation X female character, and began the writing of two features.

Now, it is "Sunmoon" she has to offer to the world as a debut film, an 8-minute short about transformation made in quarantine during the pandemic, a movie that was not part of any plan.

I have worked with Georgia Mihalcea and my experience was very positive. We filmed a Dutch reality show about two transgenders looking for their gypsy roots. As you might understand that’s quite complicated. Georgia dealt with the transgender and gypsy part very respectfully and professionally. And she delivered. I asked her for three totally different groups of gypsy’s and she made it work. We visited rich, poor and spiritual gypsy’s. We were very happy with her work. She speaks English very well. And she also translated certain parts for us, back in The Netherland while we were editing. She was a real help in researching, producing and post-producing. – Martijn Weerink, Director and Producer at StrixTv for "Louisa & Rosanna” reality show for TLC Netherlands

I worked with Georgia for the reality show production “Ma însoară mama” (Marry My Son) for the Romanian tv channel ProTV. Georgia did a good job, I was very happy with her work and can recommend her. – Volker Michels, Showrunner "Marry My Son (Mă Însoară Mama) reality show for ProTV Romania
